Bangkok Made Easy - No Need for Taxis

Did you know that if you choose the right place to stay in Bangkok its possible to see nearly all of the top attractions without having to spend any time crawling through its notorious traffic congestion ?

All you have to do is make sure that your accommodation is close to either a ferry terminal along Bangkok’s main river or next to a Skytrain (BTS) railway station and, thanks to seamless transfer from ferry to rail at Sathorn Pier, you’ll be able to traverse the whole of Central Bangkok in the most pleasant way possible (see map below).

Using the river and the Skytrain as a single transport pathway is no secret of course but some visitors do fail to take advantage of it as jumping into a taxi is almost a reflex when trying to find your way in a new city. Doing that in Bangkok, however, can lead to a lot of wasted holiday time.

A few of the attractions reachable by Skytrain and ferry are :
  • Chatuchak aka JJ Market (Skytrain)
  • Siam Square (Skytrain)
  • Patpong Market & Nightlife (Skytrain)
  • Wat Arun (Ferry)
  • Chinatown (Ferry)
  • Grand Palace (Ferry)
  • Asiatique (Ferry)
In applicable areas, hotels referred to on this site have been carefully chosen for being within walking distance (usually under 200 metres) of either a BTS Skytrain station or a river ferry terminal.
